India is the second largest country in the world by population, and is fast becoming a major economic player on the world stage.
And the Church in India is growing. About 4,000 new believers a day are coming to Christ, and Indian missiologists put the total number of Christians at about 48 million.
We have worked in India since 1997, in evangelism, discipleship, pastoral training and church-planter training, including training the leaders of the Congress on National Service (CONS, representatives of about 50 different denominations and agencies) in church-planting strategy and extension. We are currently working with Bible-Believing Churches and Missions of Bangalore in a pilot project to take the Discipleship Training across the subcontinent, and in evangelism in Tamil Nadu. We have also worked with the Nagaland Baptist Pastors’ Association in training Naga pastors in Discipleship.
In one church in Nagaland, over 150 members have taken part in the training, and they are leading many to Christ.
