Moldova, located between Romania and Ukraine, was one of the Eastern European republics which went democratic at the breakup of the Soviet empire. With its "black earth" soil, it is one of the premier agricultural producers in the region, and its vineyards are world-famous. But there has been much civil unrest over the last few years.
Vanguard has been serving in Moldova since 2006, and we have been working with the Independent Baptist Brethren and Vestea Buna Camp since that time. We have trained many Moldovan pastors, leaders and wives in Discipleship and Advanced Discipleship, and are ready for Evangelism training.
These pastors and leaders are incredibly knowledgeable in the Word (the legacy of Soviet persecution), as many had to hide their Bibles, and hide its words in their hearts. Moldova has been the "Bible Belt" of the old Soviet Union, as it has sent missionaries and brought God's Word to many other peoples and nations.
Pray for Moldova's peace and stability, and for Vanguard's ministry in this vital area.
