There are now nearly five million untrained pastoral leaders on Planet Earth. These pastoral leaders will never be able to afford or attend a formal institute of Christian learning, such as a Bible School or seminary. Non-formal training in theology, leadership, communication and practical pastoring must be brought to them. Vanguard has helped do this in many countries, and plans are being made with national leaders to do this in several others.
This is crucial, because the pastor is THE key-man in the congregation. If he catches the vision for it, he can teach and “lift” his people to entirely new levels of life, growth and service. If he doesn’t, or stays at the same level, his church will stagnate and may not be able to take part in the sweeping work of revival God the Holy Spirit wishes to give the regional area.
