At Vanguard, we want to help churches and pastors to find these faithful ones in their congregations, and assist them as they develop and equip these leaders. In this way, the pastor’s load can be shared. After all, your church can only grow as it has leaders which can support ministries that meet people’s needs. For example, how do you expand the area of a right triangle? That’s right, it’s by expanding the baseline. Just as each line section supports an area above it, so let each line section on the baseline represent a leader who supports an area of need-meeting ministry in your church. Your church will grow when it has leaders that support areas of ministry. Without leadership development, there will be no church growth, and the overall ministry will not expand. Jesus knew this, and committed the "real-time" of His ministry to developing the 12 (and then the 70) as leaders for 3 ½ years. Then when the day of Pentecost came, they could "take the reins" of the church as per His direction and instruction. If you’re in leadership, your leadership is a torch to be passed—— your real job description is to find the faithful, the available, the teachable, and develop them so they can "teach others also".
